Dental Implants

The Whites Dental Centre has been offering implants since 2013 in conjunction with Mr. Ian Seddon.

What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is essentially an artificial tooth root. It is normally made of titanium and is placed in the jawbone just like a tooth. An abutment is fitted on the top side of the implant which then forms the outside link for the crown of the new replacement tooth.

To achieve healing, the surrounding bone will grow to join with the titanium palate of the implant (osseointegration) which takes between 3 to 6 months to achieve stability so much so that it can support one or even more teeth.

The dental implants will give you the confidence to be able to smile before people in case of loss of teeth following injury or accident or even loss of teeth that is caused by old age. Teeth lost because of decay, gum disease or any causative trauma for that matter can be replaced with dental implants. The dental implants can be put to replace a single tooth or the entire set of teeth and will serve as a perfect alternative in terms of look, functionality as well as strength as the natural teeth.
